Want to learn more about the police force, and how policing really works? The City of McKinney offers a free, fourteen-week course, taught by the police, the McKinney Citizen Police Academy. Students learn from patrol officers, K9 handlers, CSI technicians, SWAT team members, dispatchers and other officers and administrative staff members. Upon graduation, students automatically become members of the McKinney Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. The Alumni Association is a 501(C)(3) organization, with a primary function to support our police department through fundraising and other activities.
